East Belgium’s sneaky roasters

Smuggler Coffee is a small roastery in East Belgium, nestled into the border triangle of Belgium, Germany, and the Netherlands. We have one simple mission: smuggle great flavor into your cup—quietly, consistently, and with a great focus on qualtity and sustainability

We’re not a large factory. We’re a hands-on roastery that treats coffee like a craft: organic beans, mindful  sourcing, and roasting decisions guided by aroma, sound, and experience—not just a stopwatch and a spreadsheet.

How we roast

Our lineup is built for real-world drinking: espresso blends, filter coffee, and single origin coffees that actually taste like where they come from. We lean into a gentle roasting process that protects the natural character of the bean—so you get clarity, sweetness, and balance instead of roast-flavored roast.

If you’re brewing with a portafilter, moka pot, Aeropress, or V60, we want the result to be the same: a cup that makes you lean back and take a little break from your busy daz

Organic, sustainable, and a bit suspicious (in a good way)

All our coffees are 100% organic and certified under the EU organic label. Sustainability for us isn’t a buzzword sticker—it’s operational. We work to reduce waste and the impact of getting coffee to you by repurposing roasting byproducts (like chaff) and using reusable shipping containers wherever possible.

In other words: we try to leave less mess behind while still delivering producing great quality coffee.

Part of a bigger story in the Euregio

Smuggler Coffee lives in the same ecosystem as the East Belgium Beer & Coffee Company (EBECO)—a small association of roasters, brewers, and tinkerers who care about raw ingredients, organic production, and the stories that live between cup and glass. We like things handmade, honest, and slightly unconventional.

Where we operate

We roast near Hauset–Raeren (Belgium) and supply private customers and businesses across the region—especially Belgium, Germany. If you’re a café, office, restaurant, or retailer looking for a dependable roastery partner (with personality), we’re built for long-term relationships. If you feel like getting in contact with us, hit us up through the contact form.
